It was very simple to assemble and to use! Love it!
I neglected my xeriscape yard for a bit and the dandelions got some thick roots that were too thick to pull by hand. I used this to twist a few times and then kind of scoop and it did the trick. Also good on the smaller weeds.
The weed puller is easy to use, but I have experienced times when a plant is bigger than what the puller can hold. Hence, two pulls are necessary.
used my first weeder for three years up it eventually came apart. This new one is better built that my first one. I've used it for about two months with lots of weeding, especially crabgrass. I've also used it for lirope, dandelions, yellow nut sedge and other weeds. I recommend it.
It is best for mature weeds with runners (i.e., crabgrass) in loose, wet soil. In my small back lawn, I was able to remove ALL of the crabgrass quite quickly (a full 13-gallon trash bag's worth). It does best if the weed is large enough to get a couple of wraps around the spikes, so not good for small/young weeds. For instance, it didn't do much on dandelions unless they were quite large. I'm not sure the unit would hold up well to the twisting force if the ground is a little hard, so I would be careful.
I have had a blast with this weed puller. We had a ton of puncturevine in our flower bed, so I sprayed it with a mixture of vinegar and Dawn dish soap and let the weeds sit overnight. The next morning, I went out and started pulling out the puncturevine. I literally just stabbed a random area (the roots are hard to find) and twirled the tool and it pulled up HUGE mounds of the puncturevine. Cleared a decent sized garden bed in less than 10 minutes. I am going to send one of these to my grandmother for her garden.
There was a little bit of a learning curve for me on using this product. Once you get use to where to place the tool to get the best results, then its a great product. This works great for weeds that have shallow or medium roots, but I don't this it is really used for very deep root weeds. After practicing for a bit, I got the hang of it and love this product.
I give this product a 5 star because it illiminates bending over to weed the yard and pulls the weeds right up roots and all! The only thing I didn’t like was the caps on the end of the handles come off while working with them, but I just super glued them on to prevent this. Would recommend this product for ease of weeding and it does a great job!
This is our new favorite garden tool. It's very effective works just like it shows. Just don't be rough with it and you will be happy!! I didn't really get a chance to use it before it broke. First time i put it in the ground, twist and pulled out weed, handle broke off. Was super excited about this concept but either Im way too strong or the pusher is too flimsy.
Previously I am painful to find a way to take off the root of dandelions. It is always grown again while pulling out manually. Well, this is an excellent tool to get rid of that kind of grass with easily implementation. Again, a very fast delivery.
dandilions appearing in my lawn and wanting to get rid of them without needing to spend hours on my knees trowling the things up. I’ve got a bad back so dread an afternoon of bending to weed the lawn. With this and a bucket I rid the lawn in my new garden of a sea of dandelions. So satisfying when it pulls up 8inch roots! Absolutely mindblowing how well this works. Stab, step, lever and eject. 4 steps easily performed quickly, no bending, no kneeling, no nonsense. In about 10 minutes I had an overflowing bucket full of weeds, each one pulled up easily and complete with the full rootsbsibthey shouldn't grow back. The small holes left behind will even help to aerate the lawn and will fill in naturally in no time. This is an absolutely brilliant tool and I have recommended it to so many people.
it is actually very durable. It’s like someone said that it has a cracking feeling when it is used, but every time I use it to dig out huge dandelions or even tree roots in hard ground, it seems to have strong elasticity and toughness without any cracked or deformed. Great design, I like it so far
Really pleased with this lightweight tool. It takes a few goes at pulling weeds to get hang of best way to use it but when you have got it, it works well, removing the whole root on most attempts. When this arrived I took it out into the garden, not at all sure if it would be of any use. In just over ten minutes I had filled a big trug with giant thistles, dandelions, docks and all the stray foxgloves looking to smother less robust flowers. With a bit of practice I bet you could learn to de-dandelion an entire lawn in a fraction of the time it would take to do the job crawling around with a daisy grubber. This weed puller did everything I wanted it for. It was easy to use and more importantly saved a lot of back strain.
Very hard to assemble but in the end it works.
I got some quack grass in my lawn and there is no weed killer that works on it so I have to pull it out with hand which is very very hard. So I decided to give this weedpuller a try and boy it made my job so easy! No more quack grass for the season
